I feel as if I’m doing a bit of an injustice.
I just got listed over at a site Is It Funny Today which lists off webcomics and people vote.
I haven’t been doing so well in the polls, I will admit – but I can’t tell if that’s because I’ve been brought into it midstory, or whether or not people expect this to be a laugh-a-strip kind of comic. I guess it is, in it’s own way, but it’s become a storyline comic too….
Eh, I’m so confused as to how to categorize myself. I’ll try not to.
Anyway, thanks for all the well wishing on the job. It means a lot. I hope those out there who don’t have one, are doing well. You have my love.

LOL I did find this one funny 🙂
The poor dot needs to explode.
Who cares what some web poll says?
Are you having a good time doing it? Are you satisfied with the audience you’re reaching? This isn’t a strip for those looking for toilet jokes or top-heavy bimbos. Those are a dime a dozen. A strip like this that requires it’s readers to fire up a brain cell or two isn’t going to appeal to everyone.
i couldnt find you – what is it tagged with?
Well you got my vote! I like this comic because it’s clever and the plot lines are just great. Most people want a quick laugh and not a whole in depth story from a webcomic. But hey, nuts to them and their short attention spans hehe.
I’ve got a lot of problems with isitfunnytoday, mostly having to do with how to rate a) strips that are not primarily intended as funny-every-day and are often good on days when they’re not funny, and b) strips that are funny in the context of an ongoing plotline (or after a several-strips setup) but not funny without the context. I refrained from rating this site (previously unfamiliar to me) at all until I had time to catch up on the current storyline — actually, I got sucked into reading the entire archive. I see problems that require changing the whole paradigm to fix, and others that will fix themselves if the user base organically develops conventions for dealing with them.
I do think isitfunnytoday provides a somewhat valuable service (hey, I’ve found more comics I like, by way of it), but worry that egos and reputations may get unfairly bruised by the way it’s implemented. That said, it seems the folks behind it are aware of some of the problems in their rating model and are working on addressing them, so maybe the problems I see will be remedied before it gets really huge.
everyone does…
