Oooboy Sunday – I always feel like I have nothing to say on Sundays. Probably because I slate the update at 10 am while I’m drinking coffee and watching something insipid on the tv.

So here’s nothing.. TADAH!

So I read your words and a bunch of you asked for Greek. I didn’t mind those so much, mostly because I knew that the next story was Greek. It might not be the one you expected… but Po will have his day in the sun. I promise.

So here comes Chapter 3 of IHL-U.. and I hope it is better than the last two. The Norse/Saw story went off better than I can expect, minus some forum’s need to destroy my spirit and hopes.. (I keed)

Now – the stage is set for another story.. altogether different.. which is neat!

Please drop me a line of feedback and let me know if you like the new style and format and things. I was so nervous jumping over… and now that I’ve given you guys one full story, I need reassurance that I haven’t screwed the pooch and ruined everything that made IHL wonderful and you all hate me and are just going to go to FARK to agree with everyone. =)

I actually am fairly certain that -I- love this format enough to keep it rolling.. so your opinions only matter a bit. Honestly. But I still want to know what you love and hate.

Yes – Loki’s son is really named Narfi.. now I know some of you are screaming ‘JAMIE! The intestines that are draped on Loki are that of his other son NARDI.. not NARFI! You IDIOT!’ and I tell you this… there is no distinct vote on which son it is. I’ve found sources with both, so NYEH ON YOU!

Let’s throw this question out for ya: What mythos do YOU want to see touched? The next story after this is already chosen and being worked on… any vote for the one after that? I know some have stated they want an Egyptian story.. is that a unified front? I have one that I want to tell, just wasn’t sure if I should bust it out next.

For those of you who remained here from my exploits over at FARK.. well, welcome and I hope you figured out what’s going on.

For those who have no idea what’s going on – let me explain.

The SOPA Blackout was a very exciting time for ol Hatton – one of the places I frequent – the news aggregate Fark did this sort of ‘inmates run the asylum’ thing. They were approving oddball links left and right. So, why the hell shouldn’t I post? I think it would be funny.

Well – in my excitement, I posted Weds comic.. not the first page of the story.. not IHL #1 from 2003.. but Norse By Norsewest – Page 4. So when the critiques of WHAT THE HELL IS THIS CRAP started pouring in, I took it hard on the chin. It really is a great read. If I hadn’t spent the last decade being referred to as ‘the dot guy’ I might have had my ego bruised. The fact is that I’ve been the dot guy for the last decade – if I can’t take criticism from someone who just glanced at my work and said ‘HATE IT’ .. I should get off the internet.

So thanks to Fark for an exciting day, and I hope one or two of you are from there. If not, at least I had an adventure.

Did you read all of that on the front? Hope you did. It’s important. It’s really important.

IHL doesn’t pay for my lifestyle, which is extravagant and full of things I’ve gold plated unnecessarily. It does though, give me an outlet of creativity that little else in my lifetime ever has. Most of my fans that I know of are open-minded, free-willed, and creative types. Many of you have your own comics, blogs, DeviantArts, bands, or even just play with MemeBase or something like that. If you fall into that category, then SOPA and PIPA are putting your creativity and online outlets in danger.

The internet, likely the most important technology in our lifetime, is under threat.

Thankfully, at this point in time, SOPA seems off the table – but PIPA is still real, and I guarantee there will be another SOPA on the horizon.

Whether you believe that the system works well, or not at all – the time in which you’ve spent reading this – you could just as easily go to one of the links provided and sign a petition, write a letter, or make a phone call. If you don’t believe it works, then do it for the laughs. If you do believe that individual voices make the voice of the country and people, then add your voice in.

Sorry for the preachiness – but if I lost the internet that I know and love – I would have to go back to buying porn mags.. and nobody wants that.

Heavens to Mergatroid – its Sunday and I had such a busy night last night that I forgot to update.

Ok – a few things before I go and teach children how to play D&D (I do that.. neat eh?)
1 – Note the top bar… it says Stop Censorship… this is part of the ongoing protest against SOPA and PIPA, two horrible pieces of legislation that will hurt the internet. Like kick it in the balls hurt it. On Wednesday there is going to be an internet protest of SOPA and PIPA, so don’t be shocked when you go to various websites and they are blacked out. IHL will be partaking as well, but the Weds update will follow shortly thereafter. I’m not thrilled that the protest is the same as my update day, but I emailed Reddit and Twitter.. and where they understood, they couldn’t move it JUST for me.

2 – Have you gone and looked at IHL Friends, Dern and Obsidians, kickstarter book that is reaching massive appeal? THE MONSTER ALPHABET BOOK – Please go check it out.. it’s going to be awesome.

3 – That’s it.. I just wanted you all to know that my wife is making fun of me for being late on today’s comic. (By late, meaning I forgot to upload the picture).

2 weeks and here’s the first post I don’t have much to say. I’ve been working on This Day In Alt-History this week and working on the next arc of IHL-U, so there hasn’t been much time for thinking. Things are quiet and comfy in the dotland – and I’ve just heard the first con invite, but I can’t say yes until I’m penned in. I will say that it is the first time I will have ever been to this state. OoooOOooo…

So I’m having a bit of a SOCIAL MEDIA CRISIS.. not that there is any problem with me on any of em’ – I’m more trying to figure out what I should be doing with them. IHL has a Facebook Page – I have a Twitter (@revvoice) and a G+.. and from what I understand, using them all to their fullest would bring more people to the Dot-Fold, but other than just shamelessly pimping on them.. they’re all kind of the same damned thing. =)

So, if you have any ideas as to what you might want out of your social media Hatton.. let me know.. otherwise, I’ll probably just keep doing what I’m doing.

Oh, and feel free to friend me on any of them. That’s not meant to be a shameless plug – just a recognition that some people might be hesitant. Go for it. I don’t care. Just be warned, I’m a little more, errr…. outspoken. =)

I love that I sit down and all of a sudden I have a kitty on my lap. She knows its update time. Little do you know, but my cat Uatu is the brains behind this entire operation.

Anyway – couple things of note this week.
1 – Thank you all for the feedback on the book. I’m taking it into consideration – and I think my ideal dream is that I get to do the Omnibus. It’s a total vanity issue. I love giant tomes, and have a really great bookcase of them. Sandman and Walking Dead and the Waiting Place and Local… these great giant books where I feel like I’m reading Neverending Story. So, if I do that – it is so for me.. but I realize that it comes at a cost if I want to do a limited run for fans. I’m going to sit down with my printer in the coming weeks and see what the best financial decision is.

2 – Palmetto noticed! I’m so happy somebody noticed! The dots on the last page were SIDEWAYS! Ok, that sounds so stupid, but one of the great things about the process of me doing IHL-U is that I can really try different staging and positioning for the characters, and one of them was redesigning Loki (and Sigyn) at 3/4 face. It is a little detail, but I was so stupidly proud of that page when I was done with it, I was beaming. I hope that the little evolutions of my skillset continue to show as the stories go on. I’m currently working on next month’s story, and the pages just come to life…

3 – Lastly – Con-Season is on its way in the first quarter of the new year (Happy New Year by the way) – If there is a convention that you frequent or know of that would like an amusing, charming, tablemonkeying, panel guy, who loves to babble for a weekend about the world of comics, movies, and general jackassery.. tell them you know a guy. I have a feeling I’ll be seeing a bit of the midwest this year, so might as well see more of it.

So here is page one of Norse by Norsewest. This comic is going to grow with feedback – so PUH-LEEZE tell me what you think.

That leads me to an interesting discussion. I recently posted up on the facings of book that I was considering how to go forward with publication. I currently self-publish two books. They encompass the first 200 comics of IHL. I’ve been working on and off Book 3 for the last few months… but now that IHLv1 is done… I got to thinking. Is 10 books of 100 comics each really the right way to go?

So the current consideration is to possibly move to 4 tomes of 250 comics each – and maybe – if there is enough calling – and perhaps a Kickstarter… MAYBE an Omnibus 1000 edition. That is going to take a lot of work though, as I can’t imagine the price of such a beast – even though my vanity wants it SO badly.

So what are your thoughts? Keep going with the little 100 comic volumes? Do 4 of 250? Want to be my secret sugarmomma/daddy backer for the Omnibus edition?
